Soirees, a platform based in France focused on capturing moments and protecting privacy at night parties. My role was to streamline the process with which photographers distribute the pictures they shot to their respective owners alongside other features like automated social media sharing and managing orders.

As there were already existing photographers on the platform, it was easy to get feedback from them to properly understand the problem and potential ways of solving it. After discussing with 3 different photographers on the platform, these two pain points stood out to me the most:
”Having to do a manual search just to get pictures for each client just intensifies my whole workflow, it will be great if there was a solution for this”
”When i get orders from clients, I end up having to manage them in a spreadsheet. Most times i want to do things like sorting orders by pictures and clients but it just doesn’t work out. I think soirees should provide a section for managing orders”

After this, I had a brainstorming session with the stakeholders which ended with me designing a user flow and the information architecture to further visualise our thoughts

Following user research and user flow design, I tacked the tasks head-on -
To enable photographers and their clients easily get their pictures from parties, pictures were indexed by face (leveraged amazon rekognition for this) so that photographers can choose to view the pictures grouped by face and search by face instead of having to do a manual search.




In order for photographers to get pictures of a particular person, photographers can either send them a link to find their pictures (by scanning their face) and place an order for the pictures they are interested in purchasing.




Photographers can now view, manage and fulfil these others right on the soirees platform

At the time of this documentation, this exercise is live (beta version) on the current platform new.soire.es . While we moved forward to work on other features for the establishment and the consumers on the mobile platform.

Overall, It was a great experience exploring different design solutions while taking technical limitations into account.
